One of the most interesting statistics I ever heard
(and I don't even know if it's true) is that there is
a "total saturation point" at which traffic can be
running along relatively uncluttered with no
stop-and-go, and the introduction of ONE MORE CAR to
that equation completely bottlenecks the whole
situation and can affect traffic for miles.

I don't know where I read that, but I remember
thinking it was pretty fascinating...
