This is how I did my 71 type3. In my case, I had none of the type3 FI parts
there (car was gutted), and after digging around in my assorted stuff, I found
3 intake manifolds, and 3 right carbs along with 1 left carb. Some more
searching led me to the linkages, and I already knew where the center pivot was. I
used a type3 air cleaner I had laying around (replacement filter type) and I
was all set. I put a set of kits into both, and used Everett's page to help tune
them, meaning this one.

This is probably yourbest bet if you don't have any of the FI parts. You can
also search the Samba classifieds for parts too (had to plug Everetts site
some more), as there are a lot of good items for sale there. I hope this helps.
