RE: rear window defroster

Well when I hit the switch I don't hear any click-so either a bad switch or
bad relay...or maybe fuse?

I thought it was supposed to light up because it has that little orange mark
on top, I couldn't tell if was a lens or just an orange mark-I guess it is
just a mark to let you know when it is on.

Do these things time out...or are they on all the time when on? Does that
make sense?

We just got hit with a bunch of snow, so this puts off work on my vw's a bit
longer...once we have some decent weather I'll be testing this out, and post
what happens...maybe some day I will have a garage....that would be nice.

Thanks for the suggestions...

Your switch does not light up. If it isn't working it can actually be taken
apart and cleaned. There is a relay under the back seat that the switch
turns on; you should be able to hear that relay click when you flip the
switch.
