	FLOOR IT!!!  ...or slow way down.

	I floor my VWs on a regular basis in routine driving... especially
the 1584 single-port bus.  I use the engine's full range/capacity.

	Note that for the air-cooled VWs, the owner's manuals typically
stated the same number for both top speed and maximum cruising speed.
