[T3] Squareback cables

I have had a 1967 Notchback for years, and recently bought a 1967
Squareback. This is a dumb question, but I must ask. There are two cables
that run from the bottom of the door pillar to the back of the car. They
seem to be actuated by the open or closed door. What are they and where will
they hook up. I am trying to find my manuals, but can't find them yet.
