We used to make a tool from an old hack saw blade by grinding a hook
into the end and wrapping with tape to protect your hand. Lately, I have
seen a tool made to score plexiglass for cutting. I think it would work
perfect for doing the under score. Also, a dremel with one of their
small saw blades, and a steady hand.
