The difference between the '71 openings and the <70' openings is there is no extra metal tab in the body of the car. This tab effectively decreases the size of the popout opening and provides a rudimentary hinge effect for the tabs on the popout window. No amount of electrical tape will solve this. A piece of metal needs to be welded in this spot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
