Thanks for the help guys, that's exactly what I needed. So last night I hit
it with the 1500 grit sand paper and water, this made it nice and smooth.
Accept for those round spots Jim warned me about, doh! but it'll pass for a
first timer.
I then used the rubbing compound, but I think I need a motorized
buffer/polisher like Bob was talking about, because I have shiny spots but
its not shiny all over. I worked hard at it too, for a few hours, but I
just could not get it to shine. I'll have to borrow one or see if I can
find a cheap one.
Thanks for the help guys, I have to tell you I was awfully scared when I
first but that sand paper to paint, yikes!
