Stock coil better than Blue I have dual Kadrons on my B*g, and I trashed the 009 for a 1969 Type III fuel injection distributor, using the mechanical advance only. It's niiiice.... and they sell for like five-ten bucks at shows. Getting a T3 dizzy like this also nets me a bonus set of trigger points as a spare for the Type III -- and trigger points are sixty bucks new from Bosch. It's like I could pay over $100 for a spare set of trigger points plus a new 009 -- but instead pay five bucks for a good used set of trigger points and a *better* distributor. Heehee. :) Remember also that magazines sell ad space. The magazine's customer is the advertiser. VW magazine advertisers can get one-size-fits-all 009s to sell to you; they can't or don't get a whole range of distributors to fit every application.
