Exactly, our stock gears are too widely spaced for effecient use of our engines when driven hard, you dont want a taller 5th gear as it will have less cooling air on the highway. were really not geared too low... my Opel turns nearly 4K at 70MPH.... Keith It is my understanding that a > 5 speed has the benefit of having 1st-4th gears closer. And the 5th gear is > the same ratio as a typical 4th.
