do you mean the vaccum unit that controls the primary throttle pressure
on page 9 of Automatic Transmission chapter? If so, I thought this was
only for the speed at which shits occur, not while under load/inclines.

The speed at which *WHAT* occurs?!? Ummm... I think *THAT* speed is controlled by something else as we age...
