You should see gas squirting from the accelerator pump nozzle. This should be true no matter what type carb you have. If you don't see any gas from the accelerator pump, then consider pulling the top of the carb and seeing how much fuel is in the float bowl. You possibly have a plugged needle valve on that carb.
