Sadly I've found no reliable quality in modern cotton braided hose. No one seems to make good stuff anymore. I'm changing to the rubber/fabric/rubber sort, which is actually made in USA by Goodyear I think. Use a bore that suits - 5/16" bore is about 8mm and fits fuel injection stuff fine, or 1/4" bore is about 6mm and seems OK for carbs. As both these sizes are a bit more than specified, it's worth using clips everywhere, even hoses that aren't under pump pressure. > 2.
