My best guess is that these stones were sitting on the top side of the "shelf" on the left side of the AT pan when Greg discovered that his filler pipe was not connected. They might have gotten knocked down the hole when Greg moved the filler pipe around in the discovery process. Since your filter screen looks fine (no holes) I don't think the stones have caused you any problems. It's possible, however, that some finer stuff did get thru and into the works. > The only good news is, that parts are still available for it. > > http://204.244.250.73/cgi-bin/catdata.sh?input=hidden&CVI=ATP~~~ATP~~~69VW~SQU3512856911N&SRT=&CV=&VERS=1285691 The link worked for me, but I can't get to anywhere that shows prices. I have some OEM VW AT gasket sets available, but you will need more than just gaskets. I'd love an excuse to try to rebuild one of these myself, but I'm not so eager that I'm hoping for such a failure in one of mine. ;-) -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
