[T3] Dave and Matt's Notch update

<x-flowed>Greetings All

It's been a while since I had some good update stuff. As you recall, our Notch has some serious rust problems, in fact the whole bottom portion is shot. But we are pumped right now because we received some sheet metal from fellow enthusiast Steve and it fits our pan perfectly. Steve had a '71 vintage squareback and was willing to cut the lower portion of the car off and send it to us. He did so, put it into a box and shipped it to Seattle. I drove down there in my trusty Dodge Omini and with friend Pat we retrieved the box from Forward Air. We then emptied the box and mounted the stuff on top of and into the Dodge and I headed north. The guys at the border kind of laughed at me when I drove up. In fact, I drove to work with this on the roof and got lots of odd looks. Anyhow, once we were home Matt and I laid it onto the frame and voila! it fits. In fact it fits very well and I think that we have solved a major rust problem. THANKS STEVE. Now all we have to do is cut off that rusty stuff from the notch and marry the new lower portion to the good upper half. And Andre, don't worry. We know the value of this Notch and will not be slamming it, nor installing suicide dooors nor chopping it. The pics can be seen at
