I really like the CDI ignitions. I have a number of them here that need repairs (yeah, like I really need another project....) that will be excellent once I get them sorted out. In the meantime, I think aircooled.net sells the modern version. These still use the standard points, but you can use the Pertronics electronic triggers with them if you like. If you find that your points keep needing adjustment, then your dist probably needs to be worked over.
