It was the connector to the # 1 spark sensor on the #1 SP wire. It feeds that 
info to the computer diagnostic plug (it's not a relay unit) that was used by 
dealers in the 70s.

The actual spark sensor may be missing if your SP wires have ever been 
replaced.

None of these parts has probably been used for nearly 30 years.
