[T3] Clutch Replacement

I need to replace my clutch and the brakes on my 71
Fasty. The clutch is slipping, the brakes are
squeaking and it just needs to get done. I called
around and the lowest quote I got is $291 for the
clutch and $165 for the brakes. But that is all I
would get, a new clutch and new front brakes. I used
to work on cars as a kid, I can read a Bentley manual
and I am not afraid to get dirty. I want to take
advantage of when my engine is out to replace any
necessary seals and give it a tune up, i.e. spark
plugs, wires, etc. So I am asking for your help...

The car is a 1971 Fastback with 81K unmolested
original miles. We are talking a totally stock car
here. It became a daily driver about 2,000 miles ago.
I am going to do the work myself over Labor Day
weekend. I have the Bentley Manual, basic tools, floor
jack and jack stands.

Previously, Jim had said that Original Equipment is
the best, so I do not want to replace anything that is
unnecessary.

Can I just replace the Clutch itself, i.e. the spring
pad, or do I need to replace the cover and bolts as
well? Do I need a special tool or can I get away with
some basic tools?

What else should I replace while the engine is out?

I also need to replace the bushings right under the
gear shift (rattles a lot), where can I order those
from?

Where do you recommend I order all my parts from, I
need to have everything here before I get started. I
am in Charlotte, NC and do not have any decent parts
shop for Type 3's!

Any additional info or tips would be greatly
appreciated!

Thanks
John
