I checked the valves and they are set ok. I watched them as my brother turned the crank and I could see them opening and closing as they should. The .006 just passed through the clearance but the .008 didn't, which is what Muir says is good. I'm going to call up my mechanic and see if he'll take a listen for me and see what he thinks, he's a family friend so he shouldn't mind helping me out here. I'll keep you guys posted on what I find out. You worked on the engine, then you heard a noise -- it's logical to infer that the noise is the result of something you did. => It seems odd to me that when I take the fuel away from that => cylinder, that noise goes away, .... It's why I'm thinking valve adjustment or something simple. No need to get queasy yet.
