There are 2 separate lines in/out of the tank. The tank outlet has the hex fitting, which contains the brass filter screen. This line runs to the filter, then the pump and then to the steel line on the LHS of the tunnel, and back to the LHS of the engine. The return from the engine comes along the RHS of the tunnel and goes into the plain tube on the tank.
