Just put a hefty bonding strap across the hanger/handle.

I bid 1 12V choke element on ebay, and the guy had a $10 reserve on a
used one. If you find a source, let me know. I need a set also.
I can live without the fuel cut-offs.

Just wire a second 6V battery in series with the old one (on the
otherside of the back seat) and have lots of cranking amps. I have done
this a lot on conversions.
