Keep the RPMs varied. In other words don't take it out and drive it for 300 
miles at 65 mph and then for the next 700 miles at some constant speed. Longer 
drives are best, so that it gets fully warmed up, but vary your speed and use 
different gears. It's also a good idea to run thru the full RPM range that you 
expect to use eventually.
