Re: Dilemma...

> congrats on the find. i'm one of those red interior lovers, but it's in my 68
square. i've found the L-codes for the paint colors, is there a reference for
what the appropriate interior color is per year? Thanks.

3-digit fabric colours are in the parts book, with body colours:-

'66 cars could have Pigalle leatherette (code 79) with Pearl white L87 to
3(1/6)6 140 226, and black L41 from chassis 3(1/6)6 140 227.
'67 cars could have Indian red (code 91) with black paint; '68 with black and
Lotus white.
'69 cars could have Gala red (code 47) with black and Toga white.
'70 cars could have Gala red (code 47) with black, Pastel white, Chinchilla,
Silver metallic, or Cobalt blue.
'71 cars was Gala red with Pastel white, Sapphire blue, Kansas beige, black, or
Silver metallic.
'72 cars had Bordeaux red (code 57) with Pastel white, black, Silver metallic,
or Kansas beige.

I didn't realise there were so many different interior reds - but only on the
higher spec. models, so I have an excuse, being in the UK. There are also red
cloth covers available, but usually only standard on higher spec. non-USA, I
believe.

The trim colour is usually included on a 'birth certificate' from the museum at
Wolfsburg (see recent archives on how to get this). I'm not sure how
comprehensive it would be on earlier ones with more variation though.
