I was driving down the road a little ways from the garage where I keep the car, and it died... The kind of dying you get from an electrical problem. Usually when I try to start the car, as I'm starting the generator light goes out & the oil light goes out after a second or two. Now, the generator light stays on when I try to start the car. I had this problem one other time, but after looking for loose connections in the engine compartment, it started right up. I must've jarred something back. Trouble is, I also had a brief issue with my starter (wire came off) about the same time, and I disconnected and reconnected the battery while I was fixing it. So it could be anywhere. I have fixed the wires near the voltage regulator, which were held onto the VR with tape, and I also fixed the head temp sensor inline connector. I soldered a male connector onto the temp sensor end & a female connector on the part coming out of the wiring harness, then covered it up with the old inline cover & some electrical tape, so that's solid now as well. I think I'm heading toward working on the generator connections next to make sure they have a good contact. Do these look bad? http://www.tiserves.com/Files/vw/pic5.jpg Thanks for any help...
