I just realized tonight that last week marked 20 years since I bought my first Squareback! Doesnt seem that long... seems just yesterday that I was staring at my first car thinking: Aircooled VW... must need a valve job! Boy do I need to paint this car... FUEL INJECTION!! how modern! this thing is gonna run so much better than my buddies Vega! This thing leaks EVERYWHERE! OH look at all those nice affordable prices for upgrades in the JC Whitney Catalog!! :-0 I gotta go to the junkyard and pick up a nice pair of heaterboxes before I freeze to death! I was hooked on the first day... and 20 years later I enjoy driving a Squareback just as much... its just now that the car doenst blend in anymore... its not just an old VW, its a car that the yonguer generation has never seen before and I cant just casually think nothing of driving one. I have heads turning now.
