Hi Bob,

Here's what VW's Parts list has to say about your Type 3:

MODEL 311  VW 1500/VW 1500 S  Sedan  LHD  up to July 1965
MODEL 313  VW 1500/VW 1500 S  Sedan  LHD with sliding sunroof  up to July 1965

So, here are some hypothetical scenarios:
1) a wrong tag was put on your car at the factory.
2) your car has had a body swap.
3) the sunroof was added later
4) you may be mistaken on the number (no offense meant).
5) my parts book is faulty

All I can state is that that info is what it shows in the partsbook.
