I was surprised at how much it felt like regular glass, but in a testament to how strong it is, I can offer this... The guy from whom I got everything had put the glass and other parts in a big rubbermaid bin. One day he accidentally ran into the bin with his truck and squished all the parts together. He thought that was it for the glass for sure. He opened up the bin and there wasn't a scratch on it. Since I heard that, I don't think I'm going to worry too much about breaking any glass while replacing the seals, at least as long as I'm careful.
