I was reading on the Aircooled.Net articles about piston ring parameters and that rings come too tight by default. For some stupid reason, I just put the rings on the pistons and put them in the cylinders and got on with it, thinking they were new and they were "pre-fit," since I bought pistons, rings & cylinders as a complete set (from KS). There was no noticeable problem slipping the pistons into the cylinders with the ring compressor... They slid in fine... I guess that's no real gauge of how tight they are though. The article mentions that the rings could seize in the cylinder. How serious of an error have I made here? (please, someone help stop this sinking feeling)... ===== -------------------------------------------- 1971 FI AT Squareback http://www.tiserves.com/VW/ vw_variant71@yahoo.com -------------------------------------------- __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
