I'm slowly (oh so slowly) putting the engine back together for my '68 Squareback. At some point in the past the the tinware that the spark plug wire seals seal against were removed and discarded (not by me of course). Does anyone have a set of these laying around? Although this engine started life as a FI engine it has been changed to dual carbs. I don't know if that makes a difference in the shape of the tin or not. Also, there was some discussion about thermostats lately. Where can I get the right one? I went to my FLAPS today. I guess they no longer speak aircooled VW (they used to). I was asked if the '68 was air or water cooled. I was then told that aircooled VWs don't have thermostats. I told them that they do but gave up when they suggested the local VW boneyard.
