It does seem to be running a lot better (for the brief period I ran it) since I adjusted the valves. All the valves on cylinders 3 & 4 were very loose for some reason. I had driven the car probably about 200 miles since the last valve adjustment. It used to take a couple trys to start it, but now it seems to start right up. > I'm with Russ on this, partly. Actually, I think both times I put the hose way up near the bend and tried to seal it there thinking it would have a long way to go before it fell off if it did. I didn't think that could actually be a bad thing. I'll pull the hose down a bit and clamp it on the smooth part near the end of the metal line. > The clamps I like are the ones > from Oetiker which VW used as > OE clamps. The car had these in numerous places (particularly the hard to reach areas) and I just figured that was all fuel line that had *never* been replaced. > I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "circular FI > hose clamp," > but it may be the kind I like. http://www.cgenterprises.com/fuel_injection.htm They're the "360 degree continuity" clamps that are completely smooth all the way around. Unbroken inner band with rounded edges. ===== Aaron Clow - http://www.tiserves.com/VW/ '71 FI AT Square - On the Road '71 FI AT Fasty - Off the Road '71 AT Square - the Parts Bin __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
