That whole area was dry, and the line along the tunnel actually looked brand new, so I'm pretty sure it's been replaced at some point. I'm going to try Bob's suggestion tonight, along with Carver's solo bleeding technique. I hope that cures it, but I'm doubtful because I thought there would be at least SOME resistance at the pedal even if I did everything wrong...
