My 73 slips on the upshift between 2 & 3 when I'm just giving it light throttle. If I hold my foot down this delays the shift to higher speed/rpms and the shift occurs smoothly. The good news is that it's done this since we bought it in '90 and it hasn't changed a bit in that time. All the other ATs that I've driven don't do this and I've checked everything I can think of short of tearing down the whole transmission. I've even had the valve body apart and adjusted the bands. VM is the proper one, and is adjusted properly for a 73. Everything inside looks clean and happy. Other than this one complaint, it works perfectly.
