That is the AT auxiliary air regulator. That wire carries 12V power to its 
heater. The wire should connect to a wire that exits from the same branch of 
the wiring harness as the oil pressure switch; it should have 12V on it any 
time the engine is running.

With the wire disconnected, the AAR should measure 15-20 Ohms from its red wire 
to ground.
