Yah, oil light has always worked... Maybe when I get some more time I'll follow it to the front of the car and let everyone know :) -Ben Wampler '71 Type 3 FI Indianapolis, IN -----Original Message----- From: Russ wolfe [mailto:russella@prairieinet.net] Sent: Saturday, June 28, 2003 2:02 PM To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: RE: [T3] Coil wire On Sat, 2003-06-28 at 12:43, Ben Wampler wrote: > It goes into a harness that heads towards the front of the car (the > same harness that has most of the wires coming off the generator) > > -Ben Wampler > '71 Type 3 FI > Indianapolis, IN > Blue wire headed to the front sounds like the oil light wire. Does your oil light work?? There is also a red wire coming out of that branch of the loom, that goes to the aux. air regulator on an automatic tranny equiped car. The wire is there and unused on a manual tranny car. Coming out of that branch, there should be: Heavy Red = D+ on generator smaller green = DF on generator smaller brown = ground screw on generator small blue/green = oil pressure switch small red = aux. air regulator on automatic (unused on manual) Hope this helps. -- Russ Wolfe '66 FB MT '71 FB AT '65 Bug (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org --- Incoming mail is certified Virus Free.
