No sudden changes in speed, or sudden shifting. And you know when to downshift. As for forth gear, you will probably lose some teeth of the gear if it goes while pulling a boat.. Usually it will be with no warning. If it goes, get the oil changed as soon as possible, and you should be able to get home in 3rd. Changing the oil, is to get the pieces of broken teeth out of the tranny. -- Russ Wolfe '66 FB MT '71 FB AT '65 Bug (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
