http://www.vwclassic.com The day of the classic getting very close, I hope many folks will meet and caravan with us to cruise to Irvine . To attend, it cost $15 for adults / kids 11 and under free and car is no extra cost. You do not need a 'show' car, cars with rust and holes are welcomed to the show , you will be suprized at the variety of conditions of cars that show up. ********************************************************************** For the type 3 folks in the San Diego area: We are going to meet in the parking lot of the Visitors Center off the 5 near the beaches. We should be there waiting at 7:00AM and take off no later than 7:30 that way it puts us up there by 9-9:30, plus it gives us time if we want to grab some grub on the way. Visitors Center location : Clairmont Drive exit off the 5, North of the Sea World and Fiesta island area, go west( toward the ocean) about a 1/4 mile you will be at the Mission Bay Vistors center (big sign) , look for the cluster of VW's in the parking lot. ***************************************************************** For Type 3 folks in the los Angeles area: Cruising to the Classic on the 8th of June is getting very close. Ok, folks , meet Scott Taylor at the LA Zoo parking lot in Griffith park right off I-5 , arrive there between 6:45am and 7:15am, from there you can cruise together at 7:30am, making your trip funner as well as safer. Do not be late or you will be left behind , like I have . It is not much fun to drive alone I am comming from the South with other folks so see you there. For more info on this epic event see the link below. http://www.vwclassic.com ***************************************************************** I am adding this for those who have never gone or those who have forgotten or will forget. Do not forget to take a camera and money , camera for memories and site pics and money to buy stuff at the swap. ALSO , ALSO, ALSO .... Smuggle some food in , even a tiny Hibachi BBQ grill and a folding patio chair would be good , you need to sit if you wish to be present all day , food at the show is not good , can you believe up to 8.00 dollars for a hotdog last time ? Or 5.00 bucks for a cold dry burger ? 1 to 3 bucks for a can of coke ? Food lines last year were 30 minutes long and the food ran out. Think about it , really . Do not forget to bring a hat or your head will cook from standing and walking around , especially if you are a little thin up there(hair) A backpack to put literature and parts you obtain would be useful not to mention to keep your munchies and tunes intact, besides it makes life easier when your hands are free. I saw a few people set up this way while the hungary and tired stared with envy , including I. In short , set your self up like you are going to the beach or a gigantic tailgate party.
