	For what it's worth, I have a ~100,000 mile 1200cc D-case 
Beetle engine that ran like a champ when I pulled it to "darkside" my 
'63 Beetle with a stock 1600.  After sitting for several years, it 
developed such a bind.  I haven't cracked it open to find the cause.
