[T3] seized 914 engine

Hey,

I have the opportunity to buy a rebuilt 2.0 liter 1973 Porsche 914
engine, cheap! I would like to put this engine in my 73 Squareback.

They guy rebuilt it about 2 years ago and it was running fine. Now it
won't start at all. He put in a new battery and fuel; checked the oil
for water; and everything else is in good shape. The starter is fine
and the flywheel doesn't seem to be catching on anything. The engine
will turn 1/4 and then seizes.

We are thinking that there may be some rust in the cylinders that is
stopping the pistons from moving.

Could that be possible?

The car has been sitting outside with a car cover. We live in northern
Colorado and don't really get too much moisture.

He's willing to part with the whole thing for $500!! But I don't want
to jump into it without some thoughts about the engine.

I may be able to get some more information on the engine if it would
help.

Thank you
