> I have but one remaining problem: the gen light > is still dimly on at idle. Any suggestions? This may be normal. Any generator or alternator's output goes up and down with rpm, so the output is at its minimum at idle. You should still make sure that your idle is set properly, which for an AT is ~900-950 rpm. So, how do I go about checking the idle on my car? Also, are there any of you knowledgeable listees that live in this area (Upstate SC)? I'm really paranoid about operating her while she's glaring at me with that baleful red eye.
