You can spray some WD40 around those gasket points and see if the RPMs raise (if they do then you found your leak). I wouldn't use the metal gaskets here (they're for a bug anyway), but use the soft gasket material type. You might have to buy some gasket material and trace out the shape from the metal ones. I've personally found that the metal ones like to leak and sometimes come loose after being heat cycled. I hope this helps.
