My door panels have been terminally mangled by the dreaded P.O. I am replacing them with 1/8" plywood with a fine spar varnish inside and out. All the better to hold those massive 6 1/2" 160 watt sony speakers, my deah. My question is: any reason not to stick the plastic sheeting to the panel instead of the door? Seems like any work in the future would need done inside the door anyway. Plus, I am thinking of using thicker vinyl shower curtain material since the old stuff looks like it spent it's life in a house full of cats. Hope this doesn't seem too darkside-ish, but I need loud enough tunes to cover the wind noise from the perpetually open vent windows (FL. being a heckishly hot place) and loud muffler.
