In 35 years I've only replaced one or two. OTOH, I've tightened up dozens and repaired a few by soldering. Replacement is not the simple task it might appear. None of us owns the crimp tools to do this properly. The tool you got at Sears or even my Amp-Champ (from the same people who actually make the connectors) are inadequate. Makeshift installation techniques are likely to work at first but give headaches after a year or so. I can't imagine a worse senario that a FI system where the owner replaced a couple dozen of these and then started having trouble a year later. It would be a nightmare. Replacement should be done on an individual basis, with great care. The BEST thing you can do for your wiring harness would be to treat it gently and take good care of it. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
