I fell in love with type 3s when I first sat in one in about '66. I believe it was a 66. I bought my first type 3, a 68 MT Squareback on March 2, 1968. I've had one or more squarebacks ever since then. I've managed to keep at least one daily driveable at all times up to the present. In one form or another I've owned 9 squarebacks. Five of them have been daily drivers that I've gotten many miles and many years out of: 68, 71, 71, 72, 73. One, now owned by John Jaranson, was bought as a possible project car but never got around to: 66. One parts car given to me: 73.
