No, that's the problem here. Production ceased in June 1973. The 3 digit 
in the VIN tells which year your car is, it should be a 3 which is for 
1973. If this car really is a 1974, this digit should of course be a 4.

There are also other ways to find the exact production date for the car, 
with the help of a tag under the front hood. Dave Hall has the 
instructions for this on his web site.
