No, beetle heat exchangers won't work on your type 3. The type 3 HEs are 
different in almost every dimension, although they look similar from a 
distance. I don't think anyone has made new type 3 HEs for many years, so your 
best bet would be to look for some good used ones. They are hard to find. They 
would have 311- part numbers.
