All of the Aussie beetles I have seen are in MPH, also the ones that were made in New Zealand were also, even though we changed to KPH in the mid 60's. I have only seen a few Aussie type 3's down here though, and I never looked that closely at the speedo, so I wouldn't know if they were also in MPH.
