I love Bill Mahr, but this seems unlikely, simply because I think we now import 
more than 1/2 of our oil. It's possible, though, if we consider that not all of 
our import oil comes from the Middle East, but the fact that not all of our oil 
goes for transportation makes this goal harder.

I feel bad that my own type 3s don't do any better on gas mileage than they do, 
but I hope that this is balanced by the fact that I have not bought new cars, 
which took energy to make. I've often wondered how long it would take to make 
up the total energy costs if I bought a new car with better gas mileage, 
compared to just keeping my older type 3 that gets poorer mileage.

Reduce, reuse, recycle. I'm sure you've heard it before.
