I'll obviously check the lamp itself first. =) I gather the lamp has failed OFF. If so try turning the key ON and removing the small blue wire from the voltage regulator and shorting it to ground. The gen light should come on. If it does then its wiring and the bulb are okay and the fault is in the VR, the generator, or the wiring between those 2. If it doesn't, the bulb would be the next thing to check, but that's an unusual bulb to burn out. At this age, however, anything's possible.
