Since you say that it happens near the 2/3 shift point, it could be just some kind of clutch slipping, or maybe you don't have enough ATF pressure to keep everything properly engaged. Check your ATF level with the engine warm and running and the AT in N. The dipstick is in the engine compartment. Check it on level ground. I think the ATF pickup tube is pretty much centered in the pan, but there could still be some effect on the level if you were driving up a hill. A hill also requires more torque, hence more pressure on the AT clutches to make them hold, so low fluid levels might be expected to show up first on hills. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
