> > what year does this fit? 341-129-609. > > Like Jim I can only find 341 129 609 A, which must be a modification of the original part. 609A is the mixing valve for the carb intake preheat for the twin carb engines up to T0 893 489 (early 71). They had a balanced flap which allowed warm air in through a pipe from the right lower heat exchanger. Once the engine was running at higher rpm, the flap partially closed due to the rush of air, reducing the flow of pre-heated air. On later engines the mixing was thermostatically controlled. There are quite a few parts for twin-carb type 3s with a '34' number, as the twin carbs were first fitted to the Type 34 in an effort to make a bit more sporty than the others. It also gave a gentle introduction for the new engine, on the smaller production. The muffler without a pre-heater pipe connection to the single carb was for the twin carb engine and is also a '34' part. There is also a weighted flap on the air cleaner for the fuel injection engine. It's only shown as a part of the air cleaner though, so I guess you will need to get one from another cleaner, or swap yours for a complete one. Dave.
